Therefore go and make disciples Matthew 28:19

Thank you to everyone who gathered outside church to support the Holmes family. I know a number of people arrived after they family had passed. My apologies to you. It was a sign of how much Stephen meant to us with all who gathered.

Church Update 25th June 2020

Stephen Holmes Funeral.

Stephen's funeral will take place this Monday 29th June at 9.45am at Stockport Crematorium.  Please do NOT go to the crematorium as we are limited to 10 people which will be  family only.

You can still show your support.

We are arranging for the funeral procession to pass the church at roughly 9.15 - 9.25.  If you would like to come and stand socially distancing outside the church on the pavement ( similar to Remembrance Sunday ) then you can.  The church will obviously be closed but you can use the car park.

Please make sure if you come that you adhere strictly to the social distance rules and don't form groups to chat.

Hopefully this will give many of us an opportunity to recognise how much Stephen meant to our fellowship. Please spread the word to those you know who maybe don't have access to the internet.

Janet has been totally overwhelmed by the love, care and concern shown to her and her family at this sad time.  She is very grateful for all the support and encouragement she has received.

If you have any questions you can contact me.

Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as God forgave you. Ephesians 4: 31-32

On Sunday we are looking at "Do Not Hurt One Another". Click here for today's devotional on  a similar theme.

Opening Up The Building
As you may be aware, the Government has confirmed that Church buildings can reopen in July, which is great news as we can start the process of being able to meet together again as a fellowship. The team we have put together to organise this has already started planning, preparing procedures, writing risk assessments, organising signs and buying hand sanitiser etc.

One thing we have decided is that we will be restarting activities slowly, and with limited numbers at first, to ensure we do this safely and in a calm and controlled way that considers the needs of everyone in our fellowship.  This will mean that we will be phasing when activities can restart and some of these will have to be later than Government guidance suggests. We may also be retaining some of the current recommendations until we are sure the allowed relaxations to these can be managed safely.

We will be sharing our plans with you all and speaking with the leaders of the various groups in the coming weeks. In the meantime please keep praying and we will get in contact with you when specific activities will be restarting, we will try to give you as much notice as possible to allow you all to know what to expect and to plan accordingly.

Please Continue to Pray.
Alpha - have had a good start. Pray for others who were due to join but experienced a few technical issues.

Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, move from here to there, and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you. Matthew 17:20

Today's devotion is based on Derek's talk "Pray For one Another". This devotion, slightly longer than normal, is a led prayer. It might be handy to have a pen to hand. Click here and let's bring all the mountains in our lives to God.

Please click here for an update from Asia Link.

Paul Dean has been enjoying these devotionals from Graham Kendrick. Paul wants you to catch the wave here.

This afternoon some of the leaders are visiting church to look at the signage required to open the building again. We are also planning to write the risk assessment's and the guidelines that we will need before any activities can take place. Please pray because it is a complex task.

The leaders are meeting tonight. On the agenda we have finances, looking at the BU advice for churches, opening the building and pastoral needs. All of this will be embedded with a healthy dose of prayer.

Here is an initial video showing you the direction of travel we will be taking for our fellowship!

Please pray for Libby Illedge's father who collapsed on Monday and is in a coma in Surrey. He is the carer for his wife who has dementia. Dad is seriously unwell and we may have some difficult decisions to make. We are all trying to attend to mum at home and she is thankfully calm at the moment but she and the carer are home without a car in a remote location. There will be many decisions to come for her and also her carer from Poland. We would appreciate your prayer in all areas . We trust in Him.

Church Update 3rd June May 2020

The LORD, the LORD, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness, maintaining love to thousands, and forgiving wickedness, rebellion and sin. Exodus 4: 6

This Sunday I will be leading the teenage Zoom gathering after our service. We are looking at the above passage and the time when God came down and met with Moses in the meeting tent. I would love to have been there to see Moses and to see him glowing with Gods glory. This is the living God who comes down into our situation and lets us shine even when all around seems dark! Please pray the young people will join and for myself, Kate Bargery and Janet Fisher who will be helping out.

Attached is the link to Derek's first of a ten week devotion on Song of Songs. I always thought if a modern day worship song writer came up with lyrics found in these passage they would be banned or classed as x rated or not biblical. Praise God for a bible book that talks about the intimacy and depth of a relationship we can have with God.

If you didn't get time to view Billy's email yesterday I encourage you all to read it and respond. There is a link below.

Please keep praying for all those we have mentioned and please add the following:
Claire Fox (Knowles) who is having further treatment.
Alison May
Tim and Clair
America during these troubles
Billy and Karen whose friends daughter has suddenly died after a long term illness.

Enjoy a rather wetter and colder day but we can still shine like stars for God glory today. After all we were created to sing, walk and worship our creator.
