We have had an incredible week at Hazel Grove Baptist Church.
On Tuesday we held the Year 7 Rewards Evening for pupils at Hazel Grove High School. It was a pleasure to celebrate the hard work and success of the school pupils. It was also good to strengthen our friendship with the school.
On Wednesday we had a wonderful afternoon at Oasis. We looked at the story of the resurrection with a mix of quizzes, escapology and videos. The story that seems unbelievable is in fact is true.
On Thursday we hosted Hazel Grove Primary Schools Easter service. We remembered that Easter is for those who feel broken and be comforted in that they can come and be healed by the person whose body was broken on the cross.
We then headed into the weekend with a Good Friday reflection on the crucifixion. On Sunday we had our usual sunrise service with a moment of quietness reflecting on living our lives “The Risen Way”.
Then 200 people enjoyed the Easter Breakfast of cereal, toast, bacon butties and fresh tea and coffee. Oh and the Cadbury’s cream Egg. This year the young people, with help from a few adults, prepared the meal as part of their preparation for the mission trip to South Africa in the Summer.
At 10:30 am we had an amazing time together with our worship group starting the service with a performance piece. We then had our Easter puppet show, some great worship and a powerful message from Billy. To end the day we had a time of praise and testimony. It was wonderful to see how God had been moving in people’s lives.
A GREAT DAY IN RELATIONSHIP WITH EACH OTHER AND OUR GOD.
We are very excited about the new building work which has now been completed. We have refurbished all the downstairs toilets to a high specification. We have added a new entrance to the rear of the building. Including a ramp for disabled access and new disabled toilet.
We had a great day at our first ever Funday Sunday. Here some pictures of the day.
We have had a frenetic month here at HGBC working with our local Schools. It has been a privilege to work with staff and pupils. Here are some of the things we have been up to:
Hazel Grove High Schools' Christmas presentation.
Our close link with local schools is just one way we are blessing our community.
We are getting really excited here at HGBC as we look forward to a fantastic Christmas. It's great to enjoy the presents, holidays and food but also to reflect on what the reason for the season is. Please find the details of all the service you will enjoy as you discover why we are celebrating.
We would also like to wish you a very Happy Christmas and a peaceful New Year.
We had well over 300 people attend our Fun Day. Great cakes, hot dogs, bouncy castles and a guest appearance by the minions. All for £1. Add to that face painting, craft, WiiU, pool and air hockey. We certainly put a smile on peoples faces on a wet and windy day in Cheshire.
We had an amazing Baptismal service on Sunday 4th October and 13th December 2015. In total six people were baptised and heard some incredible testimonies.
Well done everyone.
The young people from HGBC had a great weekend at the North West Baptist Association Impact weekend. All the amazing activities kept people busy. There was also time time to meet with other youth groups and meet with God.
Watch this space for next years booking information.
On 28th and 29th September 2015 Seedlings held a Coffee morning. It was great to catch up over a cuppa and enjoy some gorgeous cakes. We are now sending the money raised to Macmillan Cancer Support. Thankyou to everyone who helped out.
We are very excited to announce that prominent Christian worship leader and singer-songwriter Cathy Burton will be in concert at HGBC. Cathy will be playing her trademark, heartfelt and emotionally honest songs, and will be accompanied by guest musicians. As well as over an hour of live music, there will also be inspiring presentations and visuals, including footage of MAF's vital work in the developing world.
