Prayer At HGBC

"To be a Christian without prayer is no more possible than to be alive without breathing" - Martin Luther

We believe prayer is an important part of both a Christian's and a church's life. Prayer takes place in our services, Homegroups and Church Meetings.

In addition we hold these regular times of prayer.

Wednesday Prayer Group

Every Wednesday evening we gather to pray.  This is usually to pray for the church but can also include individuals, the community, the nation and world events as they feel led by the Lord.  As a church we hold prayer events including a recent 24hr Prayer Fest.  We are also involved with churches in the Hazel Grove and Stockport area and have recently supported the Stockport Prayer 24 walk and Renew prayer.

Saturday Prayer

Every Saturday morning from 8 to 9am we gather, once again, to pray for our community. Everyone is welcome to come and spend an hour praying for God to move amoungst his people.

Mission Prayer

Once a month a group of people meet to pray for the missionary organisations we partner with. In particular we pray for Christians who are being persecuted and for those who are working around the world serving in hard to reach areas to the last the least and the lost.

Sunday Prayer

Every Sunday morning before the service we gather in the front lounge to pray for the day ahead. Again its an important time of handing the days activities over to God and preparing our hearts, souls and minds for him to speak into them. Everyone is welcome to join us at 10am.

Prayer Ministry

After every service there is opportunity for people to receive prayer. This could be in response to the message or simply to pray for a personal situation or for God to touch you in a special way.
