Children's Work at HGBC

Children are important to us at HGBC, they are leaders of today and the future. We have a full programme and active programme for children in Primary School and younger years, and there’s always loads going on. We believe following Christ is the best decision everyone should make and making the choice from a young age sets you up for an amazing life with Jesus.

We are recruiting for a new and exciting role of Children, Youth and Families Leader. Follow this link for more information: Vacancy

Other events

We run other one-off events throughout the year. For example, we recently held a Family Pancake Party. We also run a Light Party at Halloween - we recognise that many children may want to go out Trick or Treating, but that many parents would rather they didn’t so we provide an alternative which gives both children and parents what they want. Keep your eyes open for more details.

Clair Conner

Clair is our Children and Family Worker. We are very pleased to have her as part of the team and look forward to seeing our Children’s work develop and grow as she leads and inspires all our amazing volunteers at HGBC.

Clair is a trained PE teacher and worked in the Stockport area for 8 years. As well as teaching PE she has worked in Primary Schools and has recently returned from teaching English as a foreign language in Italy.

Clair was raised in a Catholic family and became a Christian aged 22 and admits that at that point the Bible came alive to her. Since coming to faith she has volunteered in Heaton Chapel Christian Church and Gorton Evangelical Church. She has huge experience helping with young people’s clubs, mother and toddler groups and has taken children away on weekends away.

Clair believes that Christ is not just a story to be told but His life is applicable to our lives today.

Clair enjoys playing piano, going on different adventures and eating chocolate!
