In July over 250 primary school pupils came to the church for our annual Get Together Year 6 (GTY6) event. In a fun packed morning the young people met with the other children who will be at the same High School as them, they took part in team building events and had fun together. We ended the morning with an opportunity for the pupils to ask questions to older children who made the move in previous years.
Here is some of the team getting ready for the primary schools and then the puppets doing their thing.

On Maundy Thursday, HGBC gave out over 220 free Easter eggs as a 'random act of kindness' to commuters in Hazel Grove.
It was incredible to see peoples faces, beam with delight, as we gave them a free Easter Egg. Believe it or not we even gave chocolate to someone dressed as a dart board!!! Another passenger even took time to take to twitter to thank us.
We were just pleased to share the love of Christ with people and help Hazel Grove commuters start the bank holiday weekend with a smile. Easter is very important for us as a church and we want to encourage everyone to remember the meaning behind the Easter story.
Over the weekend we will be displaying, throughout the church, the pictures we took at The Big Chocolate Giveaway!
This week Hazel Grove Baptist Church are delighted to host two local schools.
On Tuesday Hazel Grove High School will be holding the Year 7 rewards evening. This is a chance for us to celebrate all that is good in the classroom, on the sports field, those who have good attendance and to congratulate pupils who have been achieving and working hard since joining from primary school.
On Thursday Hazel Grove Primary School will be joining us for their Easter Celebration. In previous years this has been held in the school but we are delighted that they are joining us for a morning or songs, bible readings and fun.
On Easter Sunday over 220 people will be gathering early for breakfast. It's great to come together as a church community and enjoy each others company over cereal, toast, bacon sandwiches, and a cadburys cream egg! There will also be fresh orange juice, tea and coffee served.
In the past three months we have introduced filter coffee after our Sunday morning service. It certainly has made an impact with lots of good comments about how much nicer it is compared to the instant coffee we served before.
There is always a welcome at HGBC and everyone is invited to stay for a cup of traditional tea or some of our new fresh filter coffee served up from these amazing filter machines. Of course all the drinks are free!
Passover Comes to HGBC
