Hazel Grove Baptist church

Meet the Children, Youth and Family Leader

Amanda Lamb joined the church in September 2020. She became a Christian through an Alpha course here at Hazel Grove Baptist Church and then went on to be baptised. Consequently, she is well known to a number of present members of the church, as are her two teenage daughters, Jessica and Lizzie. Amanda obtained an honours degree and teaching qualification in 1996 at Edgehill University, Ormskirk. Since leaving university, she has taught at a number of primary schools in Stockport and Poynton, as well as doing some secondary teaching.

In 2016 she felt called by God to leave full-time teaching and to use her skills in a church setting. She was appointed to the part-time post of ‘Family, Children and Youth Worker’ at Bramhall Baptist Church.

Amanda is passionate about children and young people’s work and seeks in every way to help young people to become disciples of Jesus. Currently, she is helping with the North West Baptist Association Discipleship Course for young people, which runs over two years. She is aware of the challenge of this new post, but is excited at the prospect of returning to Hazel Grove.
