Hazel Grove Baptist church

Youth Work at HGBC

We are a group of young people looking to find out who God is, how we can live as disciples of Jesus and how we can serve him with our whole lives. We do this in lots of different groups, with lots of fun, laughter and encourgement. Together we get to know the Bible better and get to know Him better. If you're in school years 7 - 13, you're most welcome to come and join us! We can't wait to see you soon!

We are recruiting for a new and exciting role of Children, Youth and Families Leader. Follow this link for more information: Vacancy

Here at HGBC we strongly believe that young people are the leaders of today so throughout the year we have opportunities for you to get involved: drama, video projects, taking part in church services and leading groups.

Other Events

Throughout the year we love to have trips or go away for holidays. We also have socials times together or as a group of young men and young woman, taking part in things such as film nights, walks, BBQ’s, summer camps and an activity weekend in October

All our youth events are led by volunteers or staff who have undergone appropriate DBS Checks.

Tim Burnham

Tim Burnham is the Youth Co-ordinator at Hazel Grove Baptist Church.  He has completed a degree course in Youth Work With Applied Theology at the International Christian College in Glasgow. His desires, passions and focus for the role of Youth Co-ordinator are to serve, support and help young people grow in their walk with God developing their own faith in the Lord Jesus, and reach out to young people in order to introduce them to Jesus Christ.

Originally Tim is from Oxfordshire, England. He has experience of youth work both in the UK and abroad. Tim has been a Youth Worker in Scotland and involved in mission work with WEC at Bourofaye Christian School, Senegal and in South Korea. He is interested in music and has unashamedly found himself listening to hip hop recently (checkout Guvna B and Propaganda!).  Tim plays bass guitar and djembe, or at least pretends to, and holds a 1st Dan black belt in Taekwondo.
